Nama Water Services' wastewater coverage stood at 31.7% in 2025, according to figures reported in April 2026, against about 72.4% for its water network. The company reported 25,900 km of water network and 5,200 km of wastewater pipelines.
Inflows fell in 2025
Wastewater reaching treatment plants rose from 84.43 million m³ in 2021 to 99.94 million m³ in 2024, then fell to 95.21 million m³ in 2025. The 2025 annual report does not give a reason. At the end of 2023 the company had 220,814 wastewater accounts, up 8.8% in the year.
More treated water is reused
Treated wastewater utilization rose from 50% in 2024 to 53% in 2025. Recycled water users rose from 228 to 311 in 2025. A tender for a treated effluent pipeline from Seeb to Barka closes on 16 November 2026.
Treatment capacity is being tendered
The biggest step is a build-own-operate-transfer partnership to expand Al Ansab from 125,000 to about 207,000 m³ a day and Al Amerat from 18,000 to 54,000 m³ a day. Bids are due on 5 January 2027. Smaller jobs are also out: a 1,400 m³ a day plant at Masirah, closing on 30 November 2026, and a decentralized plant at Ansab Park, closing on 23 November 2026.
A plan weighted to wastewater
The Integrated Master Plan, presented in December 2025, allocates OMR 7.2 billion of its OMR 11.1 billion to wastewater by 2050.
