Seqwater's Engineering Panels Close on 12 November as Five A$1 Billion-Plus Projects Line Up

Seqwater's two engineering panels close on 12 November 2026 as five projects estimated above A$1 billion each move through business cases; A$735.2 million of capital work was contracted at June 2026.

Expressions of interest for two new Seqwater engineering panels close on 12 November 2026, with a shortlist expected in early December. Seqwater's August 2026 market briefing estimated five projects above A$1 billion each, including owner's costs, and much of their design and business case work will come through these panels.

Two panels, two kinds of firm

The primary panel is for multidisciplinary firms that plan, design and deliver dams, weirs, networks and treatment plants. The niche and specialist panel is for smaller firms working on catchments, modelling, pipeline protection and single engineering disciplines. Firms can apply to one or both by 12 November 2026, and those shortlisted in early December 2026 may later be invited into closed tenders.

The projects behind the demand

The five projects are the Wyaralong Water Treatment Plant, the Northern Pipeline Interconnector Stage 3, and the North Pine, Somerset and Wivenhoe dam upgrades. Wyaralong is at the investment decision stage, with two consortia shortlisted and first water targeted for 2032. Somerset and North Pine are in detailed business cases, while Wivenhoe is at the preliminary stage.

A bigger programme, more contracted work

Seqwater spent A$534.8 million on capital in FY 2025-26, against a A$747.3 million budget. Capital work contracted but not yet delivered rose to A$735.2 million at 30 June 2026, from A$582.3 million a year earlier. The heaviest current jobs already have contractors: John Holland at Lake Macdonald, SRG Global Civil at North Pine and a CPB Contractors and NACAP joint venture on the Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline.

The brief sets out how Seqwater buys through the Zycus Supplier Network and its panels, who holds each major contract, which opportunities are open, emerging or strategic, and which supplier categories to prioritise.
