Berliner Wasserbetriebe has published a schedule of 20 planned EU-wide engineering tenders and framework agreements, due for publication between the third quarter of 2026 and mid-2027. The lists, dated 23 and 29 June 2026, are marked non-binding, but they name projects, quarters and costs.
Network projects dominate
Fourteen of the entries are design and site-supervision contracts for pipe and sewer projects, with chargeable costs of about €1.6 million to €16 million each. Chargeable costs are the basis for engineering fees, not the value of the contracts. The largest is Bucher Straße at about €16 million, followed by a new RoWL at Stolpe (about €11 million) and Kiefholzstraße (about €10.5 million). Two further network frameworks, for rehabilitation areas 75 and 89 and for project management, are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with values not yet set.
Plant work is smaller
Four plant engineering frameworks add about €7.6 million over four years. The biggest, technical equipment at €4 million, was planned for the third quarter of 2026. Waterworks process engineering (€2 million) follows in the fourth quarter.
The spending behind it
The schedule sits on a large programme. The utility invested €589.0 million in 2025, of which €265.9 million went into water mains, sewers and pressure pipes, and 109.8 km of network was rehabilitated, renovated or extended. Investment is planned to reach €691.3 million in 2027. In 2025, 77.4% of the utility's order volume went to the regional economy.
All published tenders run through the Vergabekooperation Berlin platform, where registration is needed to see full details; the 20 scheduled tenders are due to appear there from the third quarter of 2026.
Which treatment-works packages are already let, who holds them, how the utility buys and where suppliers should focus first are set out in the brief.
